An Italian dream vacation through home exchange

Rome, Florence, Venice, Sicily. Italy offers such a variety of landscapes, historical sites and regional cuisines. Tuscany offers beautiful hilly landscapes and an amazing cultural center, Firenze, or Florence. Florence, a World Heritage Site, is considered one of the world’s most beautiful cities due to its artistic and architectural heritage. It is the birthplace of the Renaissance and offers wonderful museums and art galleries.

Venice, another World Heritage Site and beautiful city is one of the most important tourist destinations in the world for its celebrated art and architecture. The Piazza San Marco and the Grand Canal have been featured in innumerable movies. Rome, once the capital of the Roman Empire, is a large city full of wonderful palaces, millennium-old churches, grand ruins, statues and graceful fountains as well as the location of the Vatican. Rome has an immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Contemporary Rome has a very active night life and is also one of the fashion capitals of the world.

Southern Italy and the island of Sicily offer wonderful beaches and views of the Mediterranean. The city of Napoli, or Naples, is the birthplace of pizza.

A lot of travelers are discovering home exchange as a very affordable way of having a vacation in Italy. Home swapping offers free accommodation, leaving more money available to visit attractions and travel around. Sometimes the home swap agreement includes a car, but if not, Italy has trains and buses that can take the traveler all over. Sometimes, though, home swappers prefer to stay in one place have a relaxed vacation getting to enjoy Italian cooking and experiencing the culture.
