About Our Home
Built in 1948, this charming, 2-story Spanish Revival home is the perfect place to stay while you explore Santa Barbara, the jewel of California's Central Coast, and often referred to as the American Riviera. Have your breakfast on the large deck while enjoying views of the Channel Islands in the sparkling Pacific Ocean! Explore Santa Barbara's fantastic restaurants, historic Mission, botanic gardens, Natural History Museum, Stearns Wharf -- all within walking distance. And, of course, there's the wonderful wine country of Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, and Los Olivos. The fully furnished home has two floors. Upstairs are two bedrooms (one queen and one full), a newly remodeled saltillo and talavera bathroom, kitchen, diningroom and livingroom with a large, flatscreen TV. A large saltillo tiled deck with a gas BBQ, tables, chairs, and chaise lounges spans the width of the top floor, offering an ocean view and afternoon breezes. Downstairs you will find another full bathroom, a bunkroom that can sleep 5, a game room with a classy wooden fusball table, a salon which sleeps 2 (pullout leather sofa), and office that sleeps one (chair-and-a-half folds out), and laundry room with a new washer and dryer. There are two TVs downstairs, and a new ping pong table in the garage. Beneath the upper tile deck is an expansive saltillo patio, an outdoor shower for rinsing sandy wetsuits, and more outdoor furniture for the purpose of really enjoying the renowned Santa Barbara weather. Squeeze some fresh orange or tangerine juice from the fruit trees (there is a lemon tree as well), and there is cable and wi-fi as well. This is our second home, so non-simultaneous exchanges are possible. It is not a vacation rental -- it really is our home-away-from-home, and that is what you will find when you get there!
