About Our Home

Casa Kumbaya is a private, secure, beachfront, open-air wall-less home located in one of the most beautiful tropical getaways remaining on the planet. The two story home is a one-bedroom, fully-equipped get-away, and can accommodate three persons in the upstairs bedroom, and two more in an expansion room downstairs, as well as two additional persons in a full-service luxury tent with full amenities on a roofed platform a discreet forty meters away from the main house. The home boasts solar electrical power with 110V inverter for usage of AC appliances up to 1000 watts. We have solar refrigeration, a six-burner propane stove, full furnishings, open-air bathroom and shower, and a full second floor private master bedroom. Our kitchen overlooks manicured lawns punctuated with tropical ornamentals, gardens, and fruit trees. We boast a full array of high quality cookware and full sets of plates, utensils, glassware, and silverware. While the kitchen is fully equipped for you to be able to prepare your own gourmet meals while watching the set peal in from the south under an advancing tide beyond the front yard. The 2.5 acre grounds are extensive and private with a wide array of ornamentals and garden plants. We have a single old growth balsa tree in the front yard, a sentinel to remind us of the forest that stood before this land was first cut for pastureland in the mid seventies, two decades before its present incarnation.
