About Our Home
My apartment is on the second floor of a 120 year old house situated on a beautiful old street in Amsterdam. It has very high ceilings, a serene balcony overlooking gardens, double glazing (so no noise pollution).
I have two spacious living rooms, a small bedroom ( an extra mattrass for additional guests), a separate wardrobe room and a small kitchen. I have cable television but don't have a plasma television. The shower room is very small and purely functional like many old apartments in Amsterdam.
The apartment is very large for Amsterdam standards, at 80 m2, with large windows at the front and french windows at the back opening onto the balcony. It is almost like a loft in the open style and it is situated right beside the Amstel river and five minutes walk from the famous Albert Cuyp market. There are cafes on each side and a tram stop outside the front door.
My apartment is very close to the old centre and in an old neighbourhood full of life and character with restaurants from all over the world and cool bars and a jazz club nearby. If you follow the Amstel, near my house, you can go for a lovely river walk all the way out of the city.
Special Considerations
No smoking in the apartment please, but you can use the balcony to smoke. Plants need watering once a week.

Personal Message
I have never done a home exchange before but I think it is a great idea and makes a holiday both more affordable and more cosy. It is much nicer to stay in a home than in an anonymous hotel room. I am really looking forward to doing my first house swap this summer. I don't mind where I go as long as there is beautiful nature around or an old historical city. My preference is nature though since I already live i na city all year round. I really have a lovely apartment in a great location and Ams...
